Catheryne Pully is the local and specialty bar liaison at the Indiana State Bar Association (ISBA). After receiving her B.S. in communications from the University of Tennessee in 1996, Catheryne served as a press secretary for a Congressman in Washington, D.C. Catheryne volunteered for an AmeriCorps program in Los Angeles for a year, then returned to Washington to serve as the communications director for a non-profit before applying to law school. In May 2004, she received her J.D. from Vanderbilt University Law School and was also commissioned into the U.S. Navy, where she served as a JAG at the Naval Station in Corpus Christi, Texas. While there, she served as defense counsel and legal assistance attorney. She later volunteered to go to Iraq, where she was stationed in the Green Zone in Baghdad working on detainee operations. After returning from Iraq, she was transferred to Washington, D.C., and served as a deputy legal advisor and spokesperson in the Office of the Convening Authority in the Office of Military Commissions. In April 2009, Catheryne left active duty and moved to Indiana where she served as an administrative law judge for the Indiana Department of Child Services before joining the ISBA. Catheryne continues to serve in the Navy JAG Corps as a Reservist.
